Message for researchers
In recent years, increasing emphasis has been placed on the research capabilities of individual departments and researchers, as well as the university as a whole. These evaluations are having a significant impact on future research activities. At the same time, concerns have emerged about “evaluation fatigue” resulting from excessive assessments.
I believe there is a growing need for research capability analysis that goes beyond numbers—one that genuinely contributes to the advancement of research. With the hope that your research at Kyoto University will continue to flourish, I will strive to provide thoughtful analysis and assessment from a variety of perspectives.
What inspired me to become a research administrator (URA)
I felt that university research administrators (URAs) were essentail to maintaining and improving research capabilities.
